Perry Township is one of fourteen townships in Clinton County, Indiana. As of the 2000 census, its population was 1,466. The township was named for Oliver Hazard Perry, an American naval officer in the War of 1812.[3]

The first white settler to arrive in what would become Perry Township was Elijah Rogers who erected a log cabin in 1827. The township was established in September, 1834, created from a portion of Washington Township.[4]
Perry Township covers an area of 33.15 square miles (85.9 km2); 0.01 square miles (0.026 km2) (0.03 percent) of this is water.
The township contains six cemeteries: Davis, Loveless, Manson, McKendra, Plainview and Shilo.
